چکیده
Dear Editor, Multiple myeloma is a subgroup of plasma cell dyscrasias with neoplastic proliferation of plasma cells or their precursors. Crystalline keratopathy is a well-recognised but rare ocular manifestation of multiple myeloma.1 We present a rare case of IgG-lambda multiple myeloma that manifested as polychromatic crystals in the cornea—a presentation that has not been previously described in this particular subtype (IgG-lambda) of multiple myeloma.

Intracellular and extracellular rhomboid shaped crystalline inclusions in a case of IgG lambda restricted plasma cell myeloma: a case report and review of the literature
The presence of crystalline inclusions in plasma cell myeloma is a rare phenomenon and cases have been reported with rod, needle, and rectangular shaped crystals. Here, we present a case of IgG lambda restricted plasma cell myeloma with rhomboid shaped intracellular crystalline inclusions and extracellular crystal depositions in the bone marrow. Since rhomboid crystal depositions can be seen in...
متن کاملConfocal microscopy in multiple myeloma associated crystalline keratopathy: case report.
We report on the confocal microscopical findings of both corneas of a patient presenting a multiple myeloma associated crystalline keratopathy and the response to treatment. Blurred vision was the first sign of progression of the multiple myeloma. Confocal microscopy images show needle-like structures in the epithelium and stroma of the cornea which regressed after treatment of the multiple mye...
متن کاملMandibular Swelling as the First Manifestation of Multiple Myeloma
Multiple myeloma is a monoclonal malignant proliferation of plasma cells. The disease is more frequent in men, and the average age of patients at the time of diagnosis of the disease is about 60 years. Solitary myeloma may be the first manifestation of the disseminated form of multiple myeloma, which is characterized by multiple skeletal lesions, general metabolic alterations, impairment of ren...
متن کاملTriphenotypic multiple myeloma expressing kappa or lambda light chain or both
A 70-year-old man presented with a 6-year history of oedema of both lower extremities. Ultrasonic examination showed bilateral anterior tibial artery occlusion due to thrombosis, moderate bilateral pleural effusions and ascites. He had severe pancytopenia, chronic renal dysfunction (serum creatinine 223 8 lmol/l and more than 1 g/24 h of urinary protein) and, on ultrasound examination, mildly e...
متن کاملMultiple Myeloma Presenting as Respiratory Stridor
Extramedullary plasmacytoma occurs in 18% of patients with multiple myeloma. Laryngeal involvement in multiple myeloma is rare, and only a few cases have been reported. We present a case of a 44-year-old women with multiple myeloma who presented with stridor due to a mass involving the larynx which was initially proven to be plasmacytoma on biopsy. She had evidence of multiple myeloma of IgA la...
